Leaving the US Saturday evening, you will land in Toulouse around noon, where your tour director will welcome you.  

A one hour drive will bring us to our first hotel where you will be able to refresh after a night in a plane. 

Choose an afternoon nap or a drive to the cave of Pech Merle to admire dramatic mural paintings dating from the Gravettian (some 25,000 years B. P.) and from from the later Magdalenian era (16,000 years B. P.).

This visit deep in our past is absolutely wonderful and will be a highlight of your trip (be ready to walk +/- 1 mile). 

We will take a short walk in the medieval city of Cahors for an aperitif before heading back to our hotel.

A convivial welcome dinner (with Cahors wines) will end this long day.
