DAY(4)

The morning will be dedicated to two ambitious wine makers of this region, both producing wines of high quality at unusually high prices for this region.

First, the Prieure Saint Jean de Bebian where owners JC Le brun and C. Lecouty are working hard to reduce the difference between a Languedoc and a Grand Bordeaux and they are quite successful at it. They are now producing the archetype of a great Mediterranean wine.

Lunch at the farm: "Le Pelican" with wines from the domain.

Our last stop in Languedoc is the Mas Daumas Gassac, producing a superb Cabernet Sauvignon, a newcomer and very unusual cepage in this region. The owner Aime Guibert also led one the poorest cooperative of the Languedoc to a production of exceptional quality followed by great success, at the Moulin de Gassac.

No more wine for today! Except for dinner.

Afternoon drive to Isle sur Sorgue for our hotel, the charming and Provencal "La Grangette" ***.

The close by village of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse is well known for its powerful spring giving birth to the Sorgue river.

Dinner in the village.
