An
early ride by Train will bring us from Bordeaux to Tours, one of the main town of the Loire Valley
region and capital of the Touraine region.
Our first stop will be at the one of the most famous castle of the region: Chenonceau. Built, owned and cared for by women during its entire history, this spectacular castle has an obvious feminine charm and beauty.
Lunch
in the small city of Amboise where we
will admire the oldest Royal castles of the region. Built in the 14
hundreds, this property of the King, introduced the Italian renaissance style into the Loire valley. We
will be thirsty after all these visits! To
take care of this, we will stop by the
Vigneau-Chevreau domain in Vouvray to taste
their superb whites, bubbly and still, dry and sweet, in their cellars, dug
in deep caves. Vigneau-Chevreau follows a biodynamic technology and you will
have the occasion do talk to the owner about his innovative methods.
Check
in at the hotel Diderot, a simple
and charming hotel, family owned and run in
the heart of Chinon, around 6:30pm. |
