DAY (4) Wednesday

An early ride by High Speed Train (TGV) will bring us to Tours, one of the main town of the Loire Valley region and capital of the Touraine region.

First stop: the small city of Amboise for a visit of the castle on our own. Built in the 15th century, this "Royal castle" ( property of the King),   introduced the Italian renaissance style into the Loire valley.
From there we will take a short walk to
Leonardo da Vinci’s last residence: Le Clos Luce. Visit of the manor where some of his inventions are on display, followed by a walk in the park for other memories of the great man.

After lunch and a short drive will be a complete guided visit of one of the most famous castle of the region: Chenonceau.

We will be thirsty after all these visits! To satisfy this need we will stop by the Vigneau-Chevreau domain in Vouvray to taste their superb white wines, bubbly and still, dry and sweet, in their cellars, dug in deep caves. Vigneau-Chevreau follows a biodynamic technology and you will have the occasion do talk to the owner about his innovative   methods.

We should check in at the hotel Diderot, a simple and charming small hotel in the heart of Chinon, around 7pm.

This hotel will be our home for the next 3 nights.

Convivial dinner in a very good restaurant of Chinon: “Les Annees 30” or at the "Chateau de Marcay".
